Endangering children’s lives

-

I absolutely despise people who endanger the lives of children by allowing them to commit such foolhardy stunts (‘Dad fined as son pokes head out of car’, Gulf News, May 2)! These people have no right to drive. Besides getting fines, their cars should be impounded for a month. Only then will the lesson stick! From Ms Samira Iqbal Dubai Facebook comment

Teach parents

T his has been a common and sad sight for many years. The authorities concerned should make people watch videos of what could happen to their child, if the car gets into an accident while the child is hanging out of the sunroof. From Mr Kerry O’Callaghan Mifsud UAE Facebook comment

Just one wrong move

I t’s unbelievable that every single day, some people can be seen driving their cars with their seat belts on, while their children are playing, standing or jumping in the back seat without being buckled in. What poor consideration for the safety of their children! Just one emergency brake, and they could crash right through the windshield. From Mr Vincent Queau UAE Facebook comment

Fines necessary

T his always happens. Parents should be fined, including those motorists who allow their children to poke their

heads and hands out Thanks, Dubai Police! From Mr Ronalin L. Adolfo Dubai Facebook comment

No sense

of

the

window. S o, because the cow owner couldn’t control his cow and left it to roam on a highway that is meant for cars, this was the reason the man was mutilated and left blind (‘Man blinded for honking at cow in Bihar’, Gulf News, May 1)? Did the cow owner expect the driver to crash into his cow, instead of honking? What makes these extremists different from Daesh (the self-proclaimed Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant)? From Ms Cassandra Debbie Sandra UAE Facebook comment

This isn’t wise

A minister is a lawmaker, and instead of changing the laws to prohibit alcohol in the state, he has given bats to wives, in order to stop their husbands from drinking (‘Minister gives bats to brides to beat up drunk husbands’, Gulf News, May 1)! How pathetic the situation has become! When a wife hands out a beating, how many men will patiently bear it? Surely it would lead to a backlash, with many of these men. From Ms Yousufa Mohammad Abu Dhabi

Curtail insurgents

I n recent days, bomb blasts are becoming more visible, with the unmitigated killing of innocent civilians, and this time, police officers were killed, too (‘Roadside bomb kills three near Baghdad’, Gulf News, May 1). Despite the reduction in the number of violent incidents, this has been happening with an alarming frequency mainly due to the involvement of insurgents. Iraqi forces should implement a new strategy to curtail these insurgents and protect the people. From Mr K. Ragavan Bengaluru, India
