Al Dashti said the Call Centre also received 162 complaints from residents saying that they are affected by animals in their neighbours’ homes.

There were 20 complaints due to damage caused by the Damas trees at their neighbouring homes. “Dubai Municipality is keen to follow up the needs of its customers and different categories of the society. Hence, we have started a new service called Preview Report on Damas Tree Damages, he said.

“The service, introduced at the Municipality Call Centre, is for verifying the damages caused to the neighbours before taking necessary measures.”

Al Dashti said the Municipality also received reports on other issues that affect residents such as water leak from the neighbour’s house due to car washing at home, and throwing agricultural or household waste next to the neighbour’s house.

Manal Obaid Yaarouf, head of Customer Care Section stressed on the importance of maintaining friendly relationships between the neighbours and the need for residents to take into account their neighbours, especially in the matter of planting trees. She urged home owners to plant trees in a way that does not harm the neighbours’ properties as well as to do periodical pruning of trees.
