Amassage parlour, a beauty centre and a laser treatment clinic, all under the roof a car workshop!
That is exactly what municipal inspectors in Dubai recently unearthed when they raided an automobile workshop in Ras Al Khor Industrial Area.
Dubai Municipality yesterday announced that authorities will shut down the workshop used for running the illegal businesses.
The Environmental Emergency Office under the Health and Safety Department raided the workshop during an inspection campaign, the civic body said in a statement issued on its social media pages.
“The workshop owner had transferred a part of the facility to a massage centre and a centre for selling cosmetics and laser treatment without permission. The Environmental Emergency Office took all necessary procedures by coordinating with the Department of Economic Development to close the workshop,” it added.
The photos posted along with the statement showed items such as laser treatment machines and hair washing chairs kept in different parts of the workshop where vehicles are also seen parked.
Early this month, the Ministry of Health and Prevention urged patients to be cautious while opting for cosmetic procedures and healing therapies as many health centres may not offer what they actually claim to have.
A senior official warned against cases of malpractice impacting patients in some medical centres and clinics that do not comply withl health regulations.
