Man jailed for threatening ex-girlfriend

Dubai Court of First Instance yesterday jailed a 23-year-old Chinese man for three months for sending an iMessage to his exgirlfriend’s mother threatening to kill her daughter if she didn’t return the presents he had given her.

The man had a two-yearlong love affair with his 27-year-old countrywoman before she called it off in January 2017.

During trial, the defence lawyer had argued that the woman had fabricated the case because she owed his client money. (Staff Report)
