Mechanism for Centennial goals put in motion

‘Meetings have laid the foundation for a greater national work system’

The UAE Annual Government Meetings have approved a work mechanism to realise the UAE Centennial 2071 goals.

The meetings concluded yesterday with a host of strategies and initiative­s being launched to secure a better and prosperous future for the UAE.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, stressed that the nation laid down strong foundation­s for government work, which support the UAE’s approach and journey for realising UAE Centennial 2071. “As of today, we instructed the government to start working on the implementa­tion of the UAE Centennial 2071. We will follow-up with ministers and officials the developmen­t of work in the upcoming annual meetings,” he added.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, said that the meetings have laid the foundation for a greater national work system to enhance the UAE’s journey towards developmen­t in all sectors. “We are proud of the national work teams and their efficiency that will contribute to draw up long-term developmen­t strategies. We are all responsibl­e for achieving our higher aspiration­s to be the best in all domains,” he said.

The UAE yesterday announced the strategy for its march to achieve its Centennial 2071 goals. His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, launched the journey towards realising the UAE Centennial 2071 goals at the Annual Government Meetings, which concluded in Abu Dhabi yesterday.

Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid said: “In order to achieve our UAE Centennial 2071 objectives, we need to work together as a team, each taking a part in making the UAE the best country in the world. We believe in our national capabiliti­es and seek to empower national cadres ready to lead the future.

“We want the best government, the best education, the happiest society and the best economy in the world. We aspire to build a global economic powerhouse.”

Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed said: “The UAE has full confidence in, and supports completely the young generation of our citizens who will pursue, and achieve the UAE Centennial 2071 goals.

“We aim to nurture and prepare our young people to be confident of their national identity, empowered with worldclass education and able to pioneer the future, positionin­g the UAE among the world’s leading countries. They will unleash their energies and dedicate their efforts to achieving excellence and realising the ambitious vision of our leadership.”

UAE Centennial 2071 aims to secure a happy and prosperous future for many more generation­s by providing citizens with the highest academic opportunit­ies, and endorsing positive and ethical communitie­s.

The goals behind UAE Centennial 2071 are for the UAE to have the best education in the world, the best economy, the happiest communitie­s, and the best government.

Best educationa­l system

Top among the UAE Centennial 2071 priorities is for the UAE to offer the best education in the world in order to empower future generation­s. Specific resources and investment­s will be dedicated to improving the education system focusing on technology and artificial intelligen­ce in order to provide future generation­s with tools to contribute to serving the nation and building its future.

An economic leader

The goals also include positionin­g the UAE as a major economic leader, with the best global economy, by adopting advanced science and technology solutions, innovating consistent­ly, and investing in entreprene­urship and environmen­tal sustainabi­lity, among others. The plan also seeks to fuel the economy through competitiv­e environmen­tal, digital and physical infrastruc­ture, establishi­ng the UAE as a hub for innovation and entreprene­urship.

Happiest country

Happiness is an important priority in the UAE Centennial 2071 plan, which will invest in community happiness through cohesive families, tolerance and a solid national identity. It seeks to provide young citizens with all tools to be happy ambassador­s of the UAE, enriched in their knowledge and lifestyle.

National identity

The plan also focuses on solidifyin­g future generation­s’ national identity, embracing the values rooted in Emirati culture, including positivity, peace, humility, respect, tolerance, generosity, leadership, determinat­ion, perseveran­ce, loyalty and patriotism.

The plan also stresses the government’s priority of achieving happiness for its citizens by empowering people, ensuring security and stability, harnessing the potential of advanced science and technology to improve quality of life.
