Lenovo launches budget smartphone Moto G5 S

The 5.2-inch device is priced at Dh799 and is a successor to the recent Moto G5

Lenovo launched its budget smartphone — Moto G5 S, a successor to the recent Moto G5.

The 5.2-inch device with Full HD all metal-unibody design is powered by 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor and it comes with 3GB of RAM.

The phone houses 32GB of internal storage and can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. It runs on latest Android 7.1 Nougat OS. It weighs 157 grams.

It’s a dual SIM phone with the secondary slot also available for microSD expansion.

The primary camera is 16MP with f/2.0 aperture and phase detection autofocus. It supports 8× digital zoom for photos and 4× digital zoom for videos.

The G5 had a 13MP secondary camera.

The front camera is 5MP wide-angle camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. The fingerprin­t sensor is merged into the home button.

Regarding connectivi­ty, it has Wi-Fi, 4G LTE and Bluetooth 4.2 but no NFC.

The 3,000mAh non-removable battery also supports fast charging. It is priced at Dh799.

Lenovo will launch only Moto brands from now on with five basic families —Z, X, G, E and the C.

Two devices under each family will make up for 10 devices per year and will cover the whole price spectrum.

After making a strong comeback, Motorola grew 13 per cent in the Middle East and its revenues have grown 30 per cent.
