Court declines ex-minister’s surrender plea
A
local court here yesterday refused to accept the surrender of former Shiromani Akali Dal Minister Sucha Singh Langah, directing him to go to Punjab’s Gurdaspur town where the rape and cheating case was registered against him. The victim, a widow, claimed that she had been sexually exploited and raped by Langah since 2009 under the threat of death.
After remaining underground for three days, he surrendered at the District and Sessions Court here yesterday, but duty magistrate Hirdejeet Singh rejected his bid and asked him to go and surrender in Gurdaspur. (IANS)
