British Orchard Nursery opens its 18th branch in Deira
Facility in Deira launched in collaboration with Federal Authority for Government Human Resources
The UAE’s largest nursery chain, British Orchard Nursery, opened its 18th branch in collaboration with the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR).
The campus, located in Deira was inaugurated in the presence of Mona Ganem Al Merri, vicepresident of the UAE Gender Balance Council, and Shamsa Saleh, secretary-general of UAE Gender Balance Council.
The nursery aims to lessen the stress on working women, particularly the employees of FAHR, by taking the premium pre-school and nursery services to their doorstep.
British Orchard Nursery has partnered with a number of government divisions in the UAE to ensure parents’ peace of mind while at work.
The multi award-winning nursery — a two-time recipient of the Woman-friendly Employer of the Year Award at the Global Women in Leadership Achievement awards — is known for its women-friendly policies, and is constantly striving to create spaces among corporates where working mothers can leave their children in safe, accessible zones.
Supporting the staff
Commenting on the launch, Ali Ahli, director of Human Resources and Services Department, said: “We are keen to provide a positive working environment to support our employees and help them achieve balance between their professional and family life and enable them to carry out their tasks.”
He pointed out that the British Orchard Nursery environment meets the best standards in health and safety requirements.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Dr Vandana Gandhi, founder and CEO of British Orchard Nursery, said: “I would like to thank FAHR for placing their trust in the nursery and partnering with us. The UAE Government has always been sensitive to the needs of its women employees and has designed policies with the aim to ease their concerns.
“The initiative of workplace nurseries by the government has met with huge success and British Orchard Nursery is proud to be contributing to the UAE economy. We hope to work on such collaborations with many corporates in future as well.”
