‘Breaking Bad’ stars at aid event
Two actors from the hit series Bad will host an Albuquerque fund-raiser next week for victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.
Bob Odenkirk (pictured), who played sleazy lawyer Saul Goodman, is sponsoring a benefit event in Albuquerque where the show was filmed, the actor announced on social media.
“Albuquerque! A benefit event for Puerto Rico — October 23 with my friend Steven Quezada of Breaking Bad. Join in if you can!” Odenkirk said on Twitter, with a picture of the invitation.
Steven Michael Quezada played federal drug enforcement agent Steven Gomez in Breaking Bad and is now an elected member of the New Mexico’s Bernalillo County Commission, the regional governing body for the area that includes Albuquerque.
The $50 (Dh183) per person event will be held at an Albuquerque brewery and is part of a broader effort by actress Anne Heche to raise money for the island. It will feature a raffle, a silent auction and entertainment.
Hundreds of thousands of people in Puerto Rico are still without running water.
Some of the island’s 51 sewage treatment plants remain out of service after Hurricane Maria struck last month. —AP
