Dubai Triathlon targeting a top show

The head of the organising committee has reiterated that nothing short of excellence will do when the Dubai Women’s Triathlon is held at the Dubai Ladies Club (DLC), next weekend.

The inaugural edition of the women’s only Dubai Women’s Triathlon will be held next Friday (November 3) and Lamia Abdul Aziz Khan, Head of Dubai Women’s Triathlon Organising Committee, Director of DLC and Vice-President of the Women’s Sports Committee of Dubai Sports Council (DSC), said that all preparatio­ns are on schedule to ensure the event is a huge success.

“Keeping up with Dubai’s track record of excellence, we are working in tandem with all stakeholde­rs to deliver an exceptiona­l and unforgetta­ble experience to all the ladies participat­ing in our event. We hope the success of the upcoming triathlon would be a stepping stone for us to expand this event and take it to an internatio­nal level even by next year,” Lamia said after a meeting with representa­tives of Dubai Police, Dubai Ports Police Station, Dubai Corporatio­n for Ambulance Services, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Sports Council and Dubai Ladies Club.

The meeting addressed the logistics of the triathlon and mapped out its 40-km path in accordance with the necessary safety measures, ensuring the well-being of swimmers, cyclists and runners while providing them with all their needs during the course of the race.
