New ministers take oath

NEW MINISTERS TAKE OATH OF OFFICE BEFORE UAE VICE-PRESIDENT AT SPECIAL CEREMONY

The new ministers of the UAE Government took the oath of office before His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, at Mushrif Palace in Abu Dhabi yesterday. His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, was present at the ceremony.

With the approval of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the new ministers of the UAE government took the oath of office yesterday before His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, VicePresid­ent and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Also present was His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid expressed his good wishes to the ministers in fulfilling their responsibi­lities, and called for increased efforts to achieve the vision and aspiration­s of the UAE. He also highlighte­d that the new government reflects the leadership’s vision for the UAE to achieve further developmen­t and prosperity in various fields to pave the way to the UAE Centennial 2071.

“We seek to achieve major steps forward in all vital sectors, in line with our vision for the UAE Centennial 2071,” said Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid. “We are leading a new phase for the UAE, enriched with science and technology, and we seek to build the future for many more generation­s to come,” he added.

“We announced the UAE Centennial Strategy during the Annual Meetings of UAE Government and today we have started implementi­ng it.

“We have national priorities to address and we must meet our people’s expectatio­ns to reach the desired objectives. We will spare no effort to provide a prosperous life to the people of the UAE,” he added.

“We seek to make our government services and infrastruc­ture a global model in utilising technology, relying on innovation, research and advanced technologi­es,” Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid said.

During the oath taking ceremony held at Al Mushrif Palace, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed said: “The vision of Shaikh Khalifa and Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid can only be achieved through consolidat­ed efforts and team work, and this is the only way forward to reach our Centennial vision.

“Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid has been setting an example in leading the government effectivel­y and efficientl­y, while maintainin­g necessary flexibilit­y to deal with the changing circumstan­ces around us,” Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed added.

He wished the new ministers success in their new endeavour and added: “With this government, we have laid the foundation­s for our vision towards achieving UAE Centennial 2071.”

He also thanked the ministers who served the government and the people of the UAE over the past years with much dedication and commitment.

The ministers expressed their pride in the leadership of Shaikh Khalifa and Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid, and said they were honoured to be a part of the government team. They expressed their commitment to increased efforts to serve the nation and its citizens, and achieve the aspiration­s of the government and leadership.
