The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has called on Emiratis to fully commit not to travel to Lebanon from the UAE or any other place

Saudi Arabia and Kuwait yesterday called on their citizens to leave Lebanon as soon as possible and advised Saudis and Kuwaitis against travel to that country.

“Due to the situation in Lebanon, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs has asked Saudi nationals visiting or residing in Lebanon to leave the country as soon as possible,” a statement carried by SPA said, adding that all Saudi citizens are advised not to travel to Lebanon from any other international destinations.

“In view of the situation in Lebanon and in anticipation of any negative repercussions for these conditions and for the safety and security of its citizens, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs requires all Kuwaiti citizens currently in Lebanon to leave immediately,” an official source at the ministry said yesterday. The ministry also called on Kuwaitis not to travel to Lebanon, hoping that Lebanon would overcome this difficult stage and achieve its security and stability.

On Sunday, Bahrain also ordered its citizens to leave Lebanon “immediately” and warned against travelling there.

The travel warnings come after Sa’ad Hariri’s resignation as Lebanon’s prime minister on Saturday citing fears for his life and a tense political environment reminiscent of the times before his father, Rafik Hariri, was assassinated in 2005.
