Leaders receive Egyptian President
DISCUSS WITH EGYPTIAN PRESIDENT WAYS TO TAKE TIES FORWARD
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received Egyptian President Abdul Fattah Al Sissi in Abu Dhabi yesterday.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, yesterday held talks with Egyptian President Abdul Fattah Al Sissi over bilateral ties and issues of common interest.
Welcoming the Egyptian president, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid and Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed expressed their pride in the deep bonds between the UAE and Egypt, as well as the close cooperation that serves the interests of the peoples of both nations.
The leaders discussed a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern, focusing on the latest regional developments, interventions in the region and their negative effects on security and stability in Arab countries.
The leaders explored ways to combat terrorism and extremism and to dry up sources of terrorism financing.
Historical relations
Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid and Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed underlined the keenness of the UAE under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to strengthen fraternal and historical relations with Egypt.
The talks touched on the solidity and importance of UAEEgypt coordination, which has proved its effectiveness in the face of crises and unprecedented challenges threatening the region’s security and stability and destroying its abilities and achievements.
Regional interference in Arab countries’ domestic affairs, in addition to terrorism, violence and extremism that undermine the region’s stability were highlighted during the meeting.
Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid and Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed reiterated the UAE’s firm position in supporting Egypt’s security and stability, as well as security in other Arab countries. They expressed their confidence in the ability of Egypt to counter terrorism and press ahead with its drive of development.
The Egyptian president expressed his happiness at visiting the UAE and praised the UAE’s role in supporting and enhancing joint Arab action.
