The power of belief

- By Suzy Sobhi

Your belief system affects all areas of your life and levels of performance. It sets your standards, and results in the situation you are in now. You have not chosen your belief system; you developed it as you grew older, and now it has become who you are. You think only within the boundaries of your limiting beliefs. Thinking that you can’t do something, you are not good enough, you lack the power or resources are all limiting beliefs. The fact is that you are the power; you are the resource. You are good enough, if you think you are and can do more, if you think you can.

Your thoughts and self-talk influence your beliefs that influence your behaviour, decisions, outcomes. These in turn influence your thoughts and self-talk. You will keep revolving within this circle till you believe you can crash the limiting boundary. Certainly you can change your whole belief system.

First, start believing yourself; believe that you can make things happen. Next, change your controlling beliefs; stop blaming external factors and start believing that the influence is internal and the power lies within you. Thirdly, change your beliefs about your own values; set high standards for yourself in all areas from salary to relationships.

In order to change your beliefs you need to understand that your beliefs are not real. Your beliefs are your perceptions that stem from memories, experiences, traditions, authority, associations and relevance. They are mere perceptions. Beliefs are not real but they lead to actions and actions cause results and results are real. In order to change results you have to change the source.

What you believe affects you. You are the problem and you are the solution.
