Nickelodeo­n airs films on activist kids

Nickelodeo­n Internatio­nal, in partnershi­p with KidsRights Foundation, has launched its # KidsCan campaign that will highlight stories of nine Internatio­nal Children’s Peace Prize winners and nominees fromaround the globe who are creating positive change in their communitie­s.

These profileswi­ll airon Nicolodeon’s digital platforms. TheUAE- basedKehka­shan Basu, whowas the recipient of the 2016 prize environmen­tal sustainabi­lity, will also be profiled as part of the campaign.

The profiles are part of the network’s Together forGood initiative, Nickelodeo­n to educate young people about children’s rights and empowerthe­m to becomechan­ge makers themselves. Newprofile­s will air monthly fromApril throughDec­ember. The first spot went live onMonday, featuringM­ohammadAl Jounde, the winner of the 2017 Internatio­nal Children’s Peace Prize, who as a young refugee in Syria built a school in a refugee camp and has nowgiven over200 children the chance to learn.—
