Lin-Manuel Miranda diagnosed with shingles
Lin-Manuel Miranda will no longer be in the room where it (diaper changes) happens.
The Tony Awardwinning mastermind of Hamilton announced Thursday that he has been diagnosed with shingles and quarantined from his eight-week-old son, Francisco.
The news came just a day after Miranda had mentioned having a terrible migraine, which would eventually be revealed as shingles.
“Hey, cool story,” Miranda tweeted. “This isn’t a migraine, it’s shingles!”
“Caught it early, quarantined away from the baby, in a Phantom mask til further notice,” Miranda quipped.
The Mary Poppins Returns star later clarified that he was not, actually, wearing a Phantom of the Opera mask, but not before Emmy Rossum — who played Phantom’s female protagonist, Christine, in the 2005 film version — informed him that she is available for duets. (Remember how Gerard Butler played the Phantom in that film? And how it was directed by Joel “Batman Forever” Schumacher? What a weird movie.)
Miranda also said he is currently staying with his parents nearby.
