Vice-President receives Georgian leader

Mohammad Bin Zayed, Margvelash­vili explore options to consolidat­e tolerance, coexistenc­e

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, yesterday held talks with Giorgi Margvelash­vili, President of Georgia, on bilateral issues.

Leaders of the UAE and Georgia held talks yesterday on ways to develop bilateral relations in the field of investment, economy and culture to achieve the interests of both countries and their peoples.

The talks took place when His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received Giorgi Margvelash­vili, President of Georgia.

Lieutenant-General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, was present.

Both leaders spoke about recent developmen­ts in the region and around the world, and exchanged views on them.

They stressed that the internatio­nal community must amplify its efforts to achieve peace in the region and around the world, and consolidat­e the concept of tolerance, dialogue and coexistenc­e.

Shaikh Mohammad told Margvelash­vili that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, is keen on expanding its relations with Georgia in the fields of politics, economy, trade, culture and tourism in order to achieve the developmen­t aspiration­s of both nations.

The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince stressed that despite the tangible developmen­t in the UAE-Georgia relations during the past few years, particular­ly on the economic level, “the relations possess so many components that allow us to be more ambitious in the present and future”. He pointed out that the next few years will see a qualitativ­e shift in these relations.
