Merchant jailed for possessing 10 cocaine pouches

A merchant has been jailed for two years for possessing 10 pouches of cocaine that drug enforcement officers seized from him at a luxurious hotel in Palm Jumeirah.

Dubai Police’s anti-narcotics department arrested the Armenian suspect from the hotel’s lobby in January and recovered two pouches of drugs from his pocket and eight hidden in his hotel room. The Dubai Court of First Instance convicted the defendant of possessing 10 pouches of cocaine weighing 113 grams. (Staff Report)
