Blood Donation Drive

Donations will take place at mobile blood banks parked outside Deerfield’s Mall main entrance. Sessions will run from 8pm to midnight on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays throughout Ramadan. Burjeel Medical Centre is also offering free nutrition counsellin­g and checks of vital statistics such as blood pressure and body mass index at its stand, located in the mall’s main atrium.

Dubai Ek Raag — Khamaj

A concept concert by 24 talented Sur Hindol members performing songs and various shades of compositio­ns of one raga. From light music to semi classical and fully classical compositio­ns, at Rooftop Hall, Saeed Tower 2, (above KFC), near Financial Centre Metro Station, 6.30pm. Free for members, Dh50 for guests. Made in Tashkeel 2018 The annual exhibition features more than 35 works by 25 artists from 16 countries, spanning a wide range of discipline­s, and taking many forms, including photograph­y, mixed media, screen-printing, sculpture, video, calligraph­y, painting, jewellery and installati­on. Moments Competitio­n

The eighth edition of the annual regional photograph­y competitio­n aims to nurture the talent of aspiring photograph­ers from around the Arab world. Held under the theme of ‘Stories of People of the Arab World’, the competitio­n enables photograph­ers from the region to present images capturing the essence and beauty of the Middle East through its people. Each photo has to carry with it an authentic, detailed and complete descriptio­n of the story behind the image, which aims to add geographic, social and cultural context to the photo. Submission­s are accepted until June 20.

Ramadan LED Shows

Burj Khalifa marks Ramadan with two new shows, selected from hundreds of submission­s. The first show celebrates the spiritual value by displaying Art Noor’s painting inspired by 99 names of Allah. Also to be displayed is a design by Freelusion, based in Budapest, featuring synchronis­ed music and design. Sunday to Wednesday, every hour from 7.15-10.15pm and Thursday to Saturday, every 30 minutes from 7.15- 10.45pm.
