Late Islamic period artefacts take centre stage

Ain National Museum has announced that the month of June will be dedicated to ancient glazed pottery from the late Islamic period, right from the 16th century, with one exhibit named as the Star Object of the Month.

The move is in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi, DCT Abu Dhabi, as part of the ongoing educational programmes at Al Ain cultural sites and museums. The artefact in focus in June will be a glazed dish found in the Zabian forest area of Al Khazna by a topographic survey team in 2009 and believed to be from the late Islamic era. (WAM)
