Police issue advisory over hooking up on social networking sites

Acollege girl has been gang-raped in Bihar afer befriending a stranger on Facebook. Police have arrested all the six accused.

The incident took place at a city hostel in Patna over the weekend, prompting the police to issue an advisory to girls not to accept friend requests from strangers on Facebook or any other social networking sites.

Police said the girl, 19, a resident of Muzaffarpur district, had come in contact with one Ritesh Kumar, a native of Lakhisarai district, through Facebook last year and developed a friendship in due course.
