Godolphin unveiled another future star in the form of Aim Of Artemis at Newmarket, as veteran sprinter Caspian Prince claimed an astonishing 19th career victory at Musselburgh racecourse in Scotland.

Aim Of Artemis was ridden by Roger Havlin to win a Fillies’ Novice Stakes, but the manner of her victory showed that she is a horse to keep an eye on in the future.

And not just because she is trained by the legendary John Gosden for Dubai’s Godolphin stables, who only last week won a first Epsom Derby (G1) with Masar,

Bred at Ballymacoll Stud out of Brazilian stallion Leroidesanimaux Aim Of Artemis may head to Royal Ascot where she holds an entry for the Coronation Stakes (Group 1) on June 22.

Meanwhile, Caspian Prince who has been a regular visitor to Dubai where he has competed at several Dubai World Cup Carnivals and also took home the prize in 2015, defied the top weight to post ■ an impressive victory in the £100,000 Scottish Sprint Cup, one of the major races held year at the popular venue.

Caspian Prince, who has been passed over by seven previous trainers is now based at Michael Appleby’s Homestead stables in Ranksborough Hall, Scotland.

He continues to flourish as a sprint specialist as he showed yesterday when making all the running in the five furlong contest under Alistair Rawlinson, before pulling clear close to home to go on to win in impressive fashion at long odds of 20/1.

This was Caspian Prince’s first success in four tries for Appleby, a former head lad at Andrew Balding’s Kingsclere Stables in England.

The nine-year-old was well-beaten in the Dash Handicap on Derby Dau at Epsom last week, but bounced back in terrific fashion in the Sprint Cup.

Wins for Caspian Prince from 83 races, including one at Meydan in 2015
