Teenager found hanging in Ajman family home

Police begin probe as book found beside the deceased deepens mystery

A18-year-old girl was found hanging in the bathroom of her family home in Al Rowdha area in Ajman.

Police received a call from the Yemeni family on Saturday around 5pm saying the teenager had been found hanging.

Major General Shaikh Sultan Bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander in Chief of Ajman Police, said that a book titled An Unquiet Mind found beside the teen.

Paramedics and a team from the CID rushed to the scene and the body was transferred to a forensic lab for an autopsy.

Police investigations are on to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and to rule out any foul play.

Maj. Gen. Al Nuaimi said that the existence of the book near the body doesn’t mean it is the main cause of suicide but it could be a factor .

Major General Al Nuaimi urged parents to be vigilant about what their children were up to, especially what they were reading or watching on the TV at an adolescent age to safeguard them from various dangers. was
