Metro to run till 2am on Eid holidays, free parking in Dubai

Dubai Tram to operate till 1am, bus timings extended, but marine services to run normally

Metro and tram in Dubai will operate for extended hours during the Eid Al Fitr holidays beginning Thursday, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said.

The metro will run till 2am and the tram will offer services till 1am from Thursday to Monday (June 18). Parking across the city will be free from Thursday. Paid parking tariffs will be reintroduc­ed on the 4th of Shawwal, which is most likely to fall on Monday.

Main bus stations like Gold Souq Station will operate from 5.14am to 12.59am and Al Ghubaiba Station from 4.46am to 12.33am. Subsidiary stations, like Satwa will operate from 5am to 11.59pm except for Route C01, which will be operating around-the-clock.

Al Ghusais Bus Station will remain open from 5am to midnight, Al Quoz Industrial Station will operate from 6am to 11pm, while Jebel Ali Station will be open from 5am to 11pm.

Intercity buses to Sharjah will run round-the-clock from Al Ghubaiba, while buses to Abu Dhabi will operate from 4.40am to 1.05am.

Union Square station will operate from 5am to 12.35am, Al Sabkha station from 6.30am to 12.30am, Deira City Centre station from 6.55am to 10.34pm, Karama station from 7am to 10.10pm and Al Ahli Club station from 7am to 11pm.

External stations like Sharjah’s Al Ta’awun will operate from 5.30am to 10.30pm, Fujairah from 5.30am to 9.30pm, Ajman from 5am to 11.30pm and Hatta from 6.29am to 10.35pm. The RTA’s marine services including water buses, taxis, ferries and abras will operate normally.

The RTA’s customer happiness centres will be closed from Thursday till the third of Shawwal. However, outsourced vehicle testing and registrati­on centres reopen on different days.

Tasjeel, Enoc, Shamil and Emarat will reopen on the 4th of Shawwal while Tamam Al Ghandi, Cars, Wasel Belhasa, Speedfit, Al Mumayaz, Sherawi, Quick and Autopal centres will reopen a day early.
