Worker rescued after sewage pit accident
The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence rescued a worker from a sewage pit in the Al Shawamikh area on the outskirts of the capital, Abu Dhabi Police said yesterday. The worker, in his 40s, was seriously injured in the accident and transferred to Al Mafraq Hospital. The operations room in Baniyas received a call at 10:15am alerting them of the incident and immediately dispatched ambulances and rescue crews to the scene. A senior police official urged construction firms to strictly comply with safety protocol.
