- — By Rabab Khan, Community Interactivity Editor

The elections in Pakistan are just around the corner and a unique candidate seems to have caught the attention of social media users. Nawab Amber Shahzada, chairman of the Aap Janab

Sarkar Party, refers to himself as the “Alternative Prime Minister of Pakistan” on his Twitter page and claims he will legalise corruption if his party comes into power. But, that’s not all. Shahzada has contested and lost 41 elections in his political career spanning 29 years, as stated in a report published by The Nation, an English daily newspaper.

Rehan Ulhaq (@Rehan_ulhaq), a Pakistan-based freelance sports writer and journalist, shared a video clip of Shahzada on his official Twitter account and wrote: “Make this guy our PM already.”

In the clip, you hear Shahzada saying: “I think that politicians could be corrupt, but only as required and not as they wish. If my government comes into power, I will minimise corruption and legalise it. If someone less corrupt comes into power, the country will progress.”

Shahzada always wears a Turkish-style hat, and sports a handlebar moustache, and is very active on his Twitter account. He has announced his plans to contest for NA-125, a constituency for the National Assembly of Pakistan in Lahore. He is up against the major political parties in Pakistan and Maryam Nawaz, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter, who will contest as an independent candidate.

On his Twitter page, Shahzada announced that in the previous elections, he had received only seven votes. But despite that, his spirits are high.
