New internal roads in two areas will be readied this month, paving the way for new communities to open soon.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has opened internal roads at Nad Al Sheba 4 and is set to open another similar project at Makan Community, Hatta, later this month.

The two projects are part of the five-year plan endorsed by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to construct internal roads in several residential communities of Dubai.

“The internal roads project at Makan community, which has 346 houses constructed by the Mohammad Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, includes the construction of eight kilometres of internal roads, car parks, pavements and street lighting,” said Mattar Al Tayer, director-general and chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA. ■

The internal roads project at Nad Al Sheba 4 comprises the construction of 56km of roads, with 50km at Nad Al Sheba 4, District 282, and 6km at Nad Al Sheba 1, District 618.

Hatta projects

Over the past few years, RTA has completed several road projects at Hatta stretching about 150km, linking Hatta with neighbouring areas.

Recently, RTA also built the Hatta-Dubai bus station, running the bus service used by about 250,000 riders every year. A taxi service office has also been opened in the area, and a taxi van had been deployed at Hatta Hospital to transfer dialysis patients to Dubai hospitals. A bus route linking key areas of Hatta has also opened.
