Banks to be closed tomorrow

Banks

will be closed for the Hijri or Islamic New Year holiday in the UAE tomorrow.

The UAE Cabinet also announced that the Hijri holiday for federal and government institutes will be tomorrow, and work will resume on Sunday. The private sector will also have a holiday tomorrow.

The Hijri marks the beginning of a new Islamic or Hijri calendar. The first day of the year is observed on the first day of Muharram, the first month in the Islamic calendar. (Staff Report)
