Gaming course launched in Dubai

-

A new gaming development course in Dubai is looking to hone fresh talent.

A seven-day Game Design & Development workshop is being held in conjunction with the National Film and Television School (NFTS), UK and ISD Global that will teach the basics of game development on the Unity engine.

ISD Global CEO Suresh Dinakaran told tabloid! the idea behind the session was to lay a stepping stone on the road to developing the region’s very own gaming industry.

“The gaming industry in the Middle East is poised to touch $12 billion [Dh44 billion] by 2020 according to market research,” said Dinakaran. “Yet, the creative side is yet to match the potential.”

The workshop will be conducted by industry veteran Alan Thorn, Head of Game Design at NFTS, UK. It costs Dh7,000 and will be conducted at IN5 in Dubai Knowledge Park from October 9-17. More details are available on NFTS’s website.
