‘Rohingya issue could have been handled better’
Myanmar’s leader Aung San Suu Kyi says the country’s handling of its Rohingya Muslim minority crisis could have been better.
The Nobel Prize laureate said this yesterday at the World Economic Forum’s meeting in Hanoi.
About 700,000 Rohingya fled to Bangladesh from the Myanmar’s Rakhine state after a brutal counterinsurgency campaign in response to 2017 attacks by Rohingya.
Suu Kyi still defended Myanmar security forces, saying that all groups in Rakhine had to be protected.
