Ampadu signs new contract with Chelsea

Wales international Ethan Ampadu has signed a new five-year contract with Chelsea, the Premier League club said yesterday.

Ampadu, who turned 18 last week, has impressed at Stamford Bridge since completing a move from Exeter City in 2017 and has already made seven first-team appearances.

“I’m really proud and happy,” he said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to the next five years and all I have got to do now is continue to work hard, and hopefully good things will happen.” said Ampadu, who can play in defence or midfield. (Reuters)
