Saudi National Day Celebrations
■ The Outlet Village (pictured) is celebrating with Qasr Al Sultan roaming entertainment performing traditional dance performances. Kids can explore the creative zone that features giant indoor games including a larger-than-life jenga, snakes and ladders, xoxo and kerplunk, in addition to a soft play zone. ■ At La Mer, Saudi dancers will perform shows at La Mer North and La Mer South, at 7pm and 8.40pm, until Sunday. On Saturday, Show Street at La Mer will transform into a live supercar gallery showcasing some luxury rides courtesy of Supercars Majlis. On Sunday, fireworks show at 8.30pm.
■ Burj Khalifa will feature the Saudi national flag on its LED screen, while The Dubai Fountain will come to life with specially choreographed displays. Shows at 8.10pm, 9.10pm and 10.10 pm in addition to the regular displays. Residents of Saudi Arabia will also be liable to discounts at At the Top, Burj Khalifa (20 per cent), Reel Cinemas, Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo (50 per cent), KidZania, Dubai Ice Rink and VR Park. ■ At The Beach, enjoy free screenings of a selection of awardwinning short films by Saudi directors at Roxy Cinemas as part of the Saudi Cinema Weekend. On Saturday, a grand parade at 6pm with horses marching along with Saudi national melodies. Saudi nationals visiting Urban Seafood, Flying Cup, Roberto Cavalli Junior, Dive N’ Surf and Flavio Castellani can expect a surprise.
■ Boxpark will take visitors on a cultural journey through staging traditional Emirati Al Ayala dance performances at 6pm from tomorrow, until Saturday.
■ At CityWalk, B’dou cafe will be giving out free meals to Saudi women drivers from tomorrow until Saturday. Moreover, all patrons of the cafe will receive 20 per cent off their bill. Also on Saturday, Saudi singer Dalia Mubarak and Emirati star Shamma Hamdan will perform at 6.45pm.
■ Dubai Festival City Mall will host an exclusive edition of Imagine, from today until Sunday. Families will also be entertained by a traditional band on Sunday from 4-7pm.
■ Yas Island in Abu Dhabi will light up its skies in celebration with a special fireworks show on Sunday at Yas Marina, at 8pm, featuring a selection of green hued fireworks in homage to the Saudi Arabian flag. Free to attend.
