Thinking of the future

Iappreciate the new announcement to allow people to stay back in the UAE, even after they have retired (“UAE Cabinet approves new rule for retired expats”, Gulf News, September 17). If people wish to stay back they have to fulfil certain financial criteria. This will definitely be a boost for the country and the UAE economy as well. Presently, many expatriates who are not able stay in their own country because of social and political reasons, will accept this proposal wholeheartedly. One of the main challenges faced by aged expatriates is the high cost of health insurance.
