Hunt on for Australian who killed emus

footage showing a man laughing as he mows down emus with his car has been described as “horrific cruelty” by Australian animal welfare authorities. The culprit can be seen driving a four-wheel drive vehicle down a dirt road, before ploughing into at least a dozen of the birds, counting each time he hits one.

“[Expletive] emus,” he is heard saying. “This is [expletive] great!” The video was posted on social media and is now being examined by the authorities. The emu is native to Australia. Standing up to two metres tall, it is the country’s largest bird. (AFP)
