September 21, 2018: An Asian woman died after falling from the top of a mountain in Ras Al Khaimah. The woman fell off Galila Mountain during a leisure trip.

September 18, 2018: An Afghan man plunged to his death during a group climb in the rocky mountainou­s terrain of Khor Fakkan. August 29, 2018: The decomposin­g body of an Emirati man was found on Al Bidyah mountain in Fujairah. A police official confirmed there were no suspicious circumstan­ces surroundin­g the death. May 18, 2017: A 19-year-old Nigerian student plunged to his death in the mountainou­s terrain of Khor Fakkan. The teen was trekking with friends.

April 2, 2017: A 45-year-old Pakistani worker died suddenly while climbing a mountain in Ras Al Khaimah along with his employer. The accident occurred at 3,500 feet above sea level, on Jebel Habas mountain, located in the eastern part of the emirate.

December 12, 2015: A British man plunged to his death on a solo climb in the rocky, mountainou­s terrain of Ras Al Khaimah. The 22-year-old British climber fell to his death while hiking in the upper reaches of the local mountain range near Al Beih.

August 29, 2015: An Emirati working as a banker died from heat exhaustion and dehydratio­n while trekking in the Oman mountains along the UAE border.
