Mob strips thief and leaves swarm of ants on bare body

Minor thrashed over suspicion that he had stolen a cell phone of a villager

Aviolent mob thrashed a minor, stripped him naked and left a swarm of ants on his bare body on suspicion that he had stolen a cell phone of a villager.

The victim with minor injuries has been admitted to a local government hospital.

The incident took place in Phulwarish­arif locality of Patna, the capital of Bihar state, on Saturday.

As per reports, the cell phone of one Noor Alam had gone missing from his home on Friday after which he suspected the hand of the 10-year-boy.

On Saturday, the local villagers caught the boy from the locality after he was found loitering in the areas and inquired about the missing mobile but he denied his involvemen­t in the mobile theft.

Angry villagers later beat the boy badly and tied him to a tree. Later, the angry mob later undressed him and threw sugar-mixed water on him and left a clump of red ants on his bare body.

Witnesses said his ordeal lasted for some two hours until someone from the neighbourh­ood called the police.
