Fake goods worth Dh91m seized in Sharjah

Three-member gang arrested as Sharjah Police raid warehouses and factory

Sharjah Police have arrested a three-member gang and seized counterfei­t goods worth Dh91 million from them. An arrest warrant has been issued against the fourth suspect who is out of the country.

Stored in three warehouses

Colonel Ebrahim Al Ajel, director of the Criminal and Investigat­ion Department, on Monday said police raided the hideouts of the Asian suspects after receiving informatio­n about their activities.

The fake goods were stored in three warehouses in addition to a packaging material factory. The suspects were planning to distribute the products in the country. The market value of the seized goods was estimated to be about Dh91,609,000.

The fake goods included phones of well-known brands, phone stickers, chargers and other electronic devices.

The suspects have been referred to public prosecutio­n.
