IELTS English proficiency test now on computer

Content and structure to remain same, but move offers more dates and faster results

The IELTS, a widely trusted test of proficiency in the English language, can now be taken on computer in the UAE.

IELTS on computer will be available at IDP Education Abu Dhabi. The British Council and IDP will announce further test centre locations in the coming months.

With the first computer-delivered test taking place from Friday, test-takers can get their results faster (5-7 days) and choose from more test dates. The test content and structure remain the same whether one is taking IELTS on computer or paper. The speaking test remains face-to-face with a certified IELTS examiner.

The test is relied upon by the 10,000 organisations that accept IELTS.
