- Staff Report

Nominations for the School Librarian of the Year annual award have opened to both private and government schools in the UAE.

In its third year now, the award champions the important role that school librarians have in influencing children to read books for pleasure.

The 2019 prize will be awarded in two categories: librarians working in government schools and those in private schools.

All schools are eligible, whatever their language, but nominations must be entered online at elfdubai. org/en/librarian-award in either Arabic or English by December 9, 2018.

Nominations made before November 15 will be included in an early bird lottery draw for three pairs of tickets to a main programme session at the 2019 Emirates Airline Festival of Literature.

The winners will be honoured at a ceremony during the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature from March 1-9, 2019.

Organised jointly by the Emirates Literature Foundation and The Executive Council of Dubai, the award honours those school librarians who make a difference to literacy in their schools.
