Rafale deal seal?

-

Right from the no-confidence motion in the Indian parliament against the BJP government, there have been a lot of allegations about the French Rafale deal (“Rahul attacks Modi on Rafale”, Gulf News, September 25). There have been many things said by the Opposition, especially by the Indian National Congress party president Rahul Gandhi. He failed to furnish detailed proof, and the India Defence Minister attempted to prove him wrong with documents. Now, the statement of former French president Francois Hollande that the deal involving the offset Indian partner Reliance was forced upon them, has given Gandhi new ammunition to attack the BJP. But this too is being refuted. Now the onus is on Gandhi. Incidentally, whether this is a corrupt deal or not, the attitude of the Congress president to call the Indian Prime Minister a ‘thief’ has not been taken well by many people.
