Counterfeit sales, an online shopping issue

A report aired by a private news channel said that fraudsters are using online shopping portals to take advantage of customers’ trust and sell poor-quality or even non-existent items.

Fake websites purportedly selling popular branded ‘factory seconds’ for huge discounts are easily searchable. Fake products also flood Facebook buy-andsell groups. Hundreds of fake retail and product apps have popped up in Apple’s App Store, websites and social media as well, deceiving customers. (APP)
