Say ‘namaskar’ and not good morning: Naidu
Indians
should let go of the colonial mindset and greet people by saying “namaskar” rather than “good morning”, “good afternoon” and “good evening”, Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu said yesterday.
Naidu, speaking at a convocation ceremony of the National Institute of Technology, said while he was not against the English language, India should break away from the mindset imposed by British colonial rulers. “Namaskar is our ‘sanskar’ in India,” he added. (IANS)
