Protest erupts after death of woman student

boycotted classes, while authorities announced a holiday, at a sub-campus of the University of Gujrat located in the Government Postgraduate College, after a woman student was found dead in her hostel room.

Police and emergency personnel rushed to the scene. The students alleged negligence, saying a venomous creature bit the student on the preceding night and a college official was informed, but delayed in taking action.

Reports quoted the college principal as saying the student had been sick. (Online)
