Government not to cooperate

The Yemeni government has rejected paragraph 12 of the Dutch decision to extend the mandate of the Group of Experts to investigate human rights violations.

The government said in a statement that it would not cooperate with the Group of Experts on the basis of its right as a Member State of the United Nations not to accept interference in its internal affairs.

The statement, carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), added that the working mechanisms of the Human Rights Council are based on respect for the decisions of the member states, which the Dutch decision is trying to prejudice by politicising the action of the Human Rights Council.
