Pakistani students pay tribute to Zayed

Pupils from 15 schools take part in speech, poster contests based on UAE founding father

Students from across the UAE gathered at Pakistan Associatio­n Dubai (PAD) on Saturday to express their love and gratitude for the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

As part of the Year of Zayed celebratio­ns, poster and speech competitio­ns were held during the event, highlighti­ng the vision, values, leadership qualities and achievemen­ts of the founding father of the UAE.

Pupils from 15 schools participat­ed in the event, which saw them speaking and creating posters based on the life of Shaikh Zayed.

The posters life of Shaikh highlighte­d the Zayed and the achievemen­ts of the UAE from 1918 to 2020 in respect of his vision.

Each school prepared a mural having quotes of the great leader as well as the developmen­t of the country.

Pakistan’s Consul General in Dubai Syed Javed Hassan was the chief guest along with Dr Omar Al Muthanna, CEO, Community Developmen­t Authority.

Hassan appreciate­d the efforts put in by the students and teachers. He also paid homage to the founding father of the UAE, calling him “a genuine leader who believed in the uplift of his people.”

“The main focus of this event was to educate the youth of the enlightene­d leadership of Shaikh Zayed. The Pakistani youth especially should learn from the legacy of Shaikh Zayed and follow his footprints,” said Samina Nasir, who heads the education committee at PAD.
