Leopards given a Cutting edge

-

Interim captain Ben Cutting is eyeing a scalp or two for the Nangarhar Leopards before the arrival of regular skipper Andre Russell.

The 31-year-old Cutting, who was the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, was named stand-in captain till Russell lands in the UAE and takes charge from October 9. Russell is currently involved with the Regional Super50 domestic limited overs back home in the West Indies. “Winning the first one will be as important as going through the second one,” Cutting told media in the presence of Nitin M. Bagrecha, executive director of Plus Capital Limited.

“We are the favourites. We play to win, and it is a winning start that we need first from this exciting squad,” he added.

The Nangarhar Leopards, backed by Ajman-based Plus Capital Limited, have back to back games against the Kandahar Knights (4pm tomorrow) and the Paktia Panthers (4pm Sunday).
