2 more cops suspended in murder probe

Two policemen, accused of negligence during the investigation into an anti-drug activist’s murder case here, were suspended yesterday, taking the total suspensions in the police department in the case to five.

Rupesh, who had been fighting drug smugglers and local criminals in south Delhi’s Taimoor Nagar, was gunned down by two suspects who came to buy drugs near his residence on Sunday night around 9pm.

Earlier, three beat officers were placed under suspension on similar grounds.
