New centre to treat heart patients in Dubai soon

- Staff Report

Dubai is all set to have a state-of-the-art cardiovascular centre soon as Dubai strives to become the regional health care hub.

Approved by the Dubai Executive Council, the centre will be developed jointly in a public-private partnership, offering patients world class health facilities.

Based on a proposal of the Dubai Healthcare Authority (DHA), the cardiovascular centre will be equipped with best-in-class equipment and technologies, and will operate according to the highest international standards.

According to DHA, the centre, apart from offering best treatment will also play a major role in research about cardiovascular issues, which the World Health Organisation considers the main cause of death in the world.

The new centre is in line with Dubai’s growth needs. The emirate requires 300 beds for cardiovascular patients by 2030, an annual growth of 7 per cent between 2018 and 2030.

Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum said that improving specialised health care services is the top priority of the government.
