UAE, global bodies discuss relief aid

Saeed Al Kaabi, UAE’s Humanitarian Operations Director for Yemen, has met with representatives from a number of relief organisations working in Yemen at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the interim capital of Aden, to discuss unified efforts in support of liberated and semi-liberated areas in the country.

During the meeting, the parties addressed the current humanitarian situation. They also discussed the mechanism of coordinating joint efforts to provide more food assistance, as well as the provision of medical treatment through the rehabilitation of hospitals and health centres, and launching mobile medical clinics in order to reach Yemeni families in remote areas, in addition to supporting local water and electricity plants.
