the Apollo 11 lunar module is among the possession­s of Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon, that will be auctioned by Armstrong’s sons.

applicatio­n, along with the $15 cheque Armstrong included with the applicatio­n will also go under the hammer. Armstrong’s sons are auctioning about 3,000 belongings of their father.

The silk US flag Neil Armstrong took to the moon

on Apollo 11. The flag is expected to draw the highest bids in an auction of Armstrong’s possession­s, perhaps selling for $300,000 or more.

crew members. In case of a disaster during the mission, the items were to be sold to provide some financial security for the astronauts’ families.
